Three types of Dog House Heaters to fill different needs

On a cold night there is nothing your dog will appreciate more than dog house heaters. Most dog breeds are not equipped to handle cold nights outside and even the protection of a dog house often isn't enough. Dog house heaters, which come in three different varieties, are designed with durability and the comfort of your dog in mind. It is not only comfort, but protection from cold temperatures and chilling nights, so that your dog can rest and maintain his good health.

The most inexpensive of dog house heaters are heat pads. Depending on the size they usually range from about $50-$80. They are easy to use because all you need to do is plug them in and they use about the same amount of energy as an 80 to 100 watt light bulb, so you'll hardly notice a difference in your hydro bill. heating pads can be used indoors as well as outdoors, in kennels and unheated garages and basements. As dog house heaters they allow your dog to choose heat or no heat because ideally they should only take up half of the floor space in the dog house. They also come with optional temperature controllers so that you can turn the heat up or down depending on the weather. These dog house heaters will need to be replaced more frequently then the other two types because they undergo more wear and tear.

The second type of dog house heaters are hound heaters. These are easily installed into the upper corner of a dog house and use either a ceramic emitter or infrared bulb to heat the dog house. They are similar to a heat lamp, but much preferred by dogs because they give off no light or very little in the case of the infrared bulb. The ceramic emitter is a 100 watts and it should last the life of your dog. Hound heaters are very sturdy and a good investment if your dog is going to be spending cold nights outside. The cost is around $90 with an extra $20 for the temperature control switch.

The final type of dog house heaters is the dog house air conditioner and heater by pet cool. It is basically central air for you dog house. The price is considerably higher at $479.99 regular price, but the benefits are immeasurable if you live in a place that goes from very cold in the winter to hot and humid in the summer. Installation is easy and they require very little maintenance, just cleaning the filter once a month. They act as a heater, air conditioner and dehumidifier, so it will maintain your dog house at a comfortable temperature all year round. These dog house heaters come with temperature control and should last a lifetime. They are designed to be used in all climates, rain, snow and heat, and since they are not a heat pump they will work well on even the coldest nights. A dog's health is affected more by extreme heat than extreme cold, so if you live in a place that has cold nights and hot summers, dog house heaters with air conditioning and heating are a good idea and your dog will thank you many times over.
